Art in the Bathrooms

We are incredibly blessed to have an eleven foot long vanity in our master bathroom. That's right, my bathroom is bigger than any of my previous bedrooms. I know I'm lucky. I really do.

As I mentioned previously, I'm not much of a product person, but I do have makeup and medicine that needs to be stored away. On our search for attractive medicine cabinets we kept coming up empty. Most were behind-the-mirror ones, and we wanted larger mirrors to reflect the view. So we went with side medicine cabinets. These are amazing. You can put art in them so they don't look nearly as tacky as the regular ones (which we have in the other two bathrooms, I couldn't justify splurging on a medicine cabinet my kids can't even reach for five more years!).

How awesome is that?

After that, I had the incredible urge to spruce up our powder room. That rooms also functions as a changing station downstairs for the baby, so I spend a lot of time in there!

Before, the wall you could see behind you in the mirror was just blank. Now it has a fun, dimensional Matisse print (from Ikea). Now I just need a towel bar and I'll be set.

  20. Your house is stunning... maybe the most stunning I have ever seen. I have to know what color that wall is that the Matisse is on? I have been looking at that shade family to repaint my master bedroom and that color is IT! I shall be following-- can't wait to see more!

  23. Great idea to use art as a cover for the medicine cabinet. I have one covered with an ugly plastic shutter thingy -- I know what to do with it now! I would love it if you would consider linking to Busy Monday at A Pinch of Joy, a Sunday through Thursday link party for ideas that make life easier, better and more fun!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I love hearing what you have to say! Sometimes I'm busy chasing after the three kids who can walk, or feeding the baby, but I promise, at some point I'll get back to you and head over to your blog (if you have one) to leave you a comment too:)
