Fresh Herbs BBQ Marinade

What use is an herb garden on the deck if I can't use it to spice herb-up my summer marinades?

I took my helper,

and cut some fresh herbs, from the garden, look how much they've grown!

Pop them into a gallon-sized ziploc bag. I used Thai Basil, Chives and Thyme since those looked ready to harvest.

Then we put in the skirt steak, added the marinade ingredients, sealed it up, and let it sit in the fridge all day. I like to use worcestershire sauce, kosher salt, balsamic vinegar, dijon mustard and a bit of olive oil.

Delicious, fresh-tasting, the perfect summer marinade for a bbq on the deck.

  3. You pantry items are exactly what I use to flavor steaks, and then I throw in whatever herbs I have on hand too. Great minds think alike ;-)
