Framing Out an Elevator Call Button

No complaints on my end that we have an elevator, I use the thing all the time for groceries or for transporting tired and cranky kids up or down quickly.

The one problem is that the call buttons we not exactly in tip-top shape after construction. Can you see that exposed drywall edge on the side? And this was the best looking one, the others were even worse, but had bad lighting so no pics of those:)

Soooooo, 20 months after moving in, I decided to do something about it.

Enter a few frames I got at Aaron Brothers on sale. I took them apart, so only the white frame was left.

Added mounting tape to the ugly metal panel,

and just pressed it on.

A million times better.

Have you ever put off a quick, easy, and cheap fix for 20 months? It's way too long, just do it!

  1. Only 20 months, I think you are ahead of the curve. The last house we built we were fixing stuff 5 years later when we were moving OUT!

  2. I do that ALL the time!!! And you are so right, a million times better. I find that I'm always asking myself 'why did I wait so long to do this?'

  3. Great idea! I also like that the elevator is disguised.

  4. Hi Jessica! I just found your blog and fell in love with your home tour!?! Is that totally creepy? ;) And next I was going to tell you that I'm going to follow you. Took the creepiness factor up to a whole new level, right? lol... Jesse @ Scout & Nimble

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I love hearing what you have to say! Sometimes I'm busy chasing after the three kids who can walk, or feeding the baby, but I promise, at some point I'll get back to you and head over to your blog (if you have one) to leave you a comment too:)
