Blogging Without Borders - Season of Change

I have joined up with some of my favorite blog friends to bring you a five-part series this summer. I think it's also called "Blogging without Borders" and the idea is for each of use to really stretch ourselves, to try something we haven't done before, and to tackle a project that will stretch out over 5 parts! Oh, and wine is involved in some way:)

We will each be posting every other Monday, ending up with a grad-finale-worthy reveal (or so I hope)  on Monday, August 27th.

Here is what I have planned:

Polka Dot Walls
Painted Nightstands
Mirror and Vanity Table
Colorful Curtains and the Final Reveal

I decided to tackle our guest room, since it is the only room in the house that has had no changes since the day we moved in.

None.

I'm telling you, n-o-t-h-i-n-g has changed. Which just makes me itchy all over.

Back in this post from February, you can see all the (uninspiring) details. I figure that if I'm lucky enough to have my mother-in-law here every other month to stay with us, than we should give her a great guest room to be in, especially since it means the kids run into her room at 6am instead of ours!

I'm also trying to keep it not-too-permanent, since as our bay grows she might be moving in here, I'm pen to all sorts of bedroom round-robin-ing for the kids. It might not be fair to have our oldest in her room forever, since it's by far the largest and has a view. So in the play-it-by-ear spirit, I'm just trying to spend  as little as possible and keep the feel of the room happy and inviting.

My first order of business was the simplest, change up the bedding. So we went from this:

to this:

getting better but it could still use a little something:

I can't wait to see what these other women tackle. I promise I'll have more impactful, challenging changes coming up! Hop on over to check out what every one else is planning.

  7. This reminds me that since moving in here we haven't really done much for the guest bedroom. I think it could benefit greatly from some great pillows and maybe some DIY artwork! Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I love hearing what you have to say! Sometimes I'm busy chasing after the three kids who can walk, or feeding the baby, but I promise, at some point I'll get back to you and head over to your blog (if you have one) to leave you a comment too:)
