The Playroom

Not the room where furniture goes to die, although sometimes it does feel a bit like a toy graveyard down here.

I've been organizing more, so we have all the baby toys in one spot.

You can see my 10 favorites here.

The dress up clothes are hung neatly on a rolling rack.

The train table acts as an unapologetic coffee table,

and the slide at the end encourages climbing.

The space is so big there is room for indoor hopscotch,

and a tea party.

Play tunnels,

and a million stuffed animals that live in wooden cradles my grandparents made for my dolls when I was little.

The lights are big, oversized pendants from Ikea.

OK, now that i mention it, the lights, slide, and 4 Expedit shelves are all from Ikea.

Decorating this space is low, low, low on the priority list.

Having fun it this space? That's high on the list:)

  1. What a great space for your kids! My mantra about my play room " It is what it is". I use to get some frustrated that I couldn't keep that room organized but slowly i relax and appreciate it for what it is.

  4. Smart move going with Ikea to decorate. I went with Pottery Barn for our play area and, well, am still kicking myself!

    Great play space!

  5. SOunds like you have your priorities in order. I'd be free to play anytime ... as long as wine is allowed in the room. :)

Love the view of the steep slope out the window.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I love hearing what you have to say! Sometimes I'm busy chasing after the three kids who can walk, or feeding the baby, but I promise, at some point I'll get back to you and head over to your blog (if you have one) to leave you a comment too:)
