Thanksgiving recap

Just like I finally showed you our pumpkin patch pictures last week, here are our Thanksgiving pictures, albeit a bit late:)

We did not do 2 meals, as we did last year. Instead, my dad, stepmom, 2 younger sisters, and grandma just came over for an hour on their way to their own "dinner". I put dinner in quotes since who can really call a meal that starts at 4pm dinner?

My grandma brough the skirt htat she made for my daughter, so cute. Remember when I took my daughter to visit and she chose the butterfly patch? Here is is in real life.

Then I took the opportunity to get a pic of the "boys",

and quite a few of the girls.

You think the men in our family feel a bit outnumbered?

For our own "dinner" I cut branches from our backyard and actually attempted to tablescape. I even used our handprint turkey place cards.

Not too bad, if I do say so myself.

Which I do, since this is my blog:)

My mom, stepdad, his daughter, and a friend joined us (my family plus my sister and her husband who were there the whole time). My mom made the turkey, gravy and stuffing, so all I needed to do was dessert and sides.

I made roasted brussels sprouts, asparagus, a harvest salad with butternut squash and pecans, mashed potatoes, apple-pear cobbler and sweet potato pie. Super yummy.

How was your holiday? Anything I should try for next year?

Jessica

  3. Beautiful! Your table looks like it belongs in a magazine. We're not very traditional around here--we had lasagna for Thanksgiving! :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I love hearing what you have to say! Sometimes I'm busy chasing after the three kids who can walk, or feeding the baby, but I promise, at some point I'll get back to you and head over to your blog (if you have one) to leave you a comment too:)
